Robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) are revolutionising warehouse operations in India. Bir Singh, co-founder, and chief business officer at Addverb, an automation manufacturing company shares, “Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and their nimble counterparts, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), are streamlining material movement.
Advancements in sensor technology are enabling AMRs to navigate complex environments with increasing precision.” Similarly, collaborative robots (cobots) are increasingly employed alongside human workers to optimise repetitive tasks such as picking, packing, and sorting. Singh adds, “Cobots help in freeing human workers to focus on higher-value activities requiring problem-solving and critical thinking skills.”
AI-powered predictive analytics enable intelligent inventory management, demand forecasting, and route optimisation, ensuring optimal resource utilisation and cost efficiency.
