Piramal PGP operates a conventional warehouse that spans 2,350 square meters in a civil building. The company faced several critical challenges, including limited storage capacity, increased product wear and tear, and inefficiencies in material identification and tracking. Additionally, there were difficulties in project dispatch and handling rejected materials.
The manual transfer of pallets from the adjacent production area used to cause in significant delays and complications during quality checks. As a consequence, pallets often remained on the production floor until all checks were completed. Furthermore, the warehouse is located in Surat, an area classified as Seismic Zone 3, which required the implementation of additional structural stability measures.
Addverb transformed the warehouse infrastructure by first connecting the production area directly to the first-floor warehouse, enabling seamless product transfers. An advanced automated storage and retrieval system featuring an 11-floor multi-deep storage with 11 Mother-Child shuttles (Multi-Pro) was implemented. Our Warehouse Execution System (WES) software, Cocinity, managed pallet infeed and outfeed, cycle counts, and reports.
In an automated glass distribution centre pallets are dimension-checked before moving to a buffer location. The Mother Shuttle retrieves and the Child Shuttle stores them per WES direction, with quality checks at 10 pallets per hour. The Mother-Child system and bi-directional lifters enable quick retrieval, using a FIFO method for efficient dispatch by forklifts or Hand Pallet Trucks (HOPTs).
This technical enhancement significantly improved Piramal PGP’s automated glass distribution centre operations, addressing key challenges and meeting their objectives effectively.

Pallet outflow throughput of approximately 220 pallets per day ensures efficient order processing.
Handles 175 pallets inflow per day across six lines, further improving throughput.
