Objective

The Wooster Brush Company (WBC), based in Wooster, Ohio, encountered significant challenges in their manual, paper-based picking process. This system led to inefficiencies, increased labor demands, fulfillment errors, and safety risks for both the picking and stacking teams.

WBC recognised the need for an automation partner to optimize the material flow, streamline customer orders, and increase the throughput. Addverb and Wooster have worked closely to define a solution, manufacture, test, implement, integrate, and support the material flow, conveyance, and software requirements set forth by Wooster

Solution

Addverb deployed an automated material handling solution at Wooster Brush Company, integrating 13 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) capable of handling payloads of up to 1,100 pounds each.

AMRs follow pickers through multiple aisles, enabling efficient product picking and placement of products directly onto pallets, resulting in improved productivity. The solution also includes two automated pallet de-stackers and stackers, enabling a fully automated return and dispensing process in real-time based on order demands.

Addverb’s enterprise-level software orchestrates the entire operation through its advanced Fleet Management System, ensuring the smooth coordination and control of the AMR fleet and enhancing the overall efficiency of Wooster Brush’s warehouse operations.
