Objective

Their primary objective was to replace their manual, RF scanner-based order consolidation system, which was labor-intensive, error-prone, and contributed to delays, slowing the order-to-dispatch cycle by up to 30%. Mercado Libre needed a solution that was not only accurate and fast but also flexible and scalable across their growing distribution network.

Addverb designed a solution that could be rapidly deployed and reconfigured at different sites, supporting multiple customer segments – ranging from retail to e-commerce to CEP (Courier, Express & Parcel) logistics.

Solutions

To support their goal of building a flexible, accurate, and future-ready supply chain, Addverb implemented a comprehensive automation solution at their Brazil warehouse. At the core of this transformation is a fleet of 125 robotic sorters designed to automate the outbound sortation of packages. This shift from a manual to an automated Pick-to-Wall (PTW) process, integrated with robotic sorters, has significantly improved the overall efficiency, speed, and accuracy of operations.

The solution is seamlessly integrated with Addverb’s enterprise-level software suite, including the Fleet Management System (FMS) and Warehouse Execution System (WES) for real-time inventory updates, orchestrating smooth coordination of robotic tasks, and optimizing the sorting process. Through this system, Mercado Libre is able to achieve 5,000 sorts per hour.
