Objective

Their primary objective was to move away from conventional, labor-intensive warehousing processes that limited storage density, slowed throughput, and increased dependency on manual handling. These challenges impacted operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and the ability to scale with growing demand.

ITC required a solution that could maximize space utilization within a large warehouse footprint while ensuring high-throughput pallet handling, accurate storage and retrieval, and consistent 24/7 operations. The system also needed to efficiently manage high SKU diversity while maintaining reliability and process control.

Solutions

The solution enables efficient pallet storage and retrieval across deep lane configurations, supported by a network of conveyors, vertical lifts, and multiple infeed and outfeed stations to ensure seamless material flow. Before entering storage, pallets pass through automated validation checkpoints, including profile, weight, and integrity checks, ensuring only compliant loads are stored.

At the core of the system, the Multi Pro shuttle fleet autonomously handles pallet movement within storage lanes, executing storage and retrieval tasks based on real-time instructions from the Warehouse Control System (WCS). The system is designed to handle high-throughput operations, supporting up to 66 pallets per hour inbound and 47 pallets per hour outbound.

The overall solution delivers a scalable, high-performance automated warehouse environment capable of supporting ITC’s growing operational needs.
