Zielsetzung

The Leading brake parts distributor faced significant challenges with a high volume of unit and case picking, the process required large teams to walk long distances while identifying and lifting heavy products.

This manual system led to worker fatigue, health and safety concerns, and a high employee turnover rate. Additionally, the carts used in the operation were slow, creating bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the picking, sorting, and shipping processes.

By partnering with Addverb, they aimed to work together to design, manufacture, and implement a solution that streamlined material flow, reduced errors, and improved productivity across the distribution center.

Lösung

To fulfill the leading Brake Parts Distribution Center’s objectives and goals, Addverb deployed a comprehensive automation solution at their facility, featuring a fleet of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) each capable of carrying up to1100 pounds.

The solution also includes 25+ robotic sorters with a carrying capacity of 88 pounds, ensuring precise sorting and the ability to handle effectively addressing demand fluctuations with accuracy to various pallet locations.

To improve efficiency, Addverb’s Fleet Management Software(FMS) was integrated with their Warehouse Execution System (WES). This integration provides real-time updates, optimizes the picking, labeling, and sorting processes, and ensures smooth
coordination between AMRs, voice-picking devices, and warehouse staff.

Verbesserung der Schlüsselergebnisse (KPIs)

To provide a comprehensive solution utilizing a variety of flexible robots for Brake Parts Distribution Center, the resulting key performance indicators (KPIs) are unmatched and establish a new standard of excellence.
